Alp Impressions XVII by Lukas Furlan
Vienna based photographer Lukas Furlan captures the ethereal cloudscapes of the upper reaches of the Alps in his seventeenth photoset in the series.
A haunting, otherworldly feel takes over and the full scale of these giants becomes apparent through the mist. The dark unknown features heavily against pastel hues that evoke a vast, dystopian future or the first glimpses or a foreign planet.
‘The key thing to remember is probably that it takes some effort (lack of sleep, long hikes, heavy backpacks, and bad weather) to capture landscapes. Besides these physical and mental factors, the main thing is good light.'
